China Championing Global Economic Unity
At a recent conference marking 70 years of China’s leading foreign policy principles, President Xi Jinping called for increased cooperation and the construction of ‘bridges’ in the global economy. Despite economic and security disputes with neighboring countries and trading partners worldwide, Xi reiterated China’s commitment to peaceful development.
Building Bridges Instead of Walls
‘In an era of economic globalization, it is crucial to avoid creating divisions. Instead, we should build bridges of communication,’ emphasized President Xi. He underlined the need for collaboration, not confrontation, to pave the way for mutual progress and understanding.
Promoting Peaceful Coexistence
‘China will never abandon the path of peaceful development,’ stated Xi Jinping. Reflecting on history, he highlighted the ‘five principles’ of peaceful coexistence first established in a 1952 pact with regional rival India. These principles have guided China’s approach to international relations, advocating for harmony over discord.
China’s Constructive Role in Global Issues
Following China’s surprising mediation between Iran and Saudi Arabia last year, top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi affirmed that China will continue to play a constructive role in resolving global challenges. This commitment showcases China’s dedication to fostering global peace and stability, contributing positively to the international community.
